5 ways a DCIM install can fail

Data Center Journal  article cites time constraints, mis-communication, poor planning and vendor mis-representation as among the ways a DCIM install can go awry.

The Data Center Journal's Matt Lane has posted an article investigating five ways that implementation of a data center infrastructure management (DCIM) system can go awry. Lane notes that "with time constraints, mis-communication, poor planning, and vendors over-promising and under-delivering, there are a number of ways a DCIM install can fail." Briefly, these reasons include: lack of planning; mis-representation by the vendor; confusion in ownership of the installation process; mis-conceptions of upkeep costs; and data overload.
